William Orbit is an English musician, composer and record produser. His real name is William Mark Wainwright. He worked in various jobs until he had an opportunity to work as an assistant at basing street studios. In 1981 Orbit and Laurie Mayer formed the band Torch Song, an experiment in audio cassette soundscapes. In 90's he formed an other band Bassomatic, recording house music. Later he went to California and became a radio produser. In 97' Orbit met Madonna in New York and they recorded her multy Grammy award winning album Ray Of Light.
