Richie Havens Going Back To My Roots

Richard Pierce Havens was an American folk rock singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known for his intense and rhythmic guitar style and his opening perfomance at the 1969 Woodstock festival. Four years later, when he was 20, he went to Geenwich Village (N.Y.) where it took a while before he thought of picking up a guitar and his solo perfomances quickly spread beyond the Village folk circles.
