Thievery Corporation State Of The Union


Thievery Corporation was formed in summer of 1995 at Washington D.C. by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. They decided to mix elements of bossa nova, dub, jazz, reggae, afrobeat and latin and see what would come of blending all these in a recording studio. Then they started the Eighteenth Street Lounge Music record label. Thievery Corporation has taken progressive political stances on various issues, opposing war and exploitative trade agreements and supporting human rights and food programs. They have released 7 studio albums, 18 compilation albums and 31 singles.
