David Byrne is a Scottish born musician, songwriter and producer, permanently residing in the U.S.A.. He was founding member of Talking Heads, which was active from 1975 to 1991. He started playing the guitar, accordion and violin before high school. The other members of Talking Heads were Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth and Jerry Harrison.They have released 8 albums from 1977 to 1988. Byrne has worked in film and theatre projects (soundtracks, scoring). Also he founded the world music label Luaka Bop in 1990, which releases music from Latin America, Cuba, Africa, Far East and beyond.
