John Grant is an American singer and songwriter. In 1994, he and Chris Pearson formed The Czars, an alternative rock band. The other members were Jeff Linsenmaier, Andy Monley, Roger Green and Elin Palmer. They released 6 studio albums. In 2004 they decided to part ways. Grant continued to perform live with the moniker The Czars for a while. After the split he worked as a sideman for bands like Midlake and The Flaming Lips. He launched a career as a solo artist in 2010. He has collaborated with Sinead O'Connor, Rumer and Hercules & Love Affair.
