Kan Wakan is a new band, they formed in 2012. The project began as an effort to fuse classical minimalism and experimental soul within a more accessible sonic environment. The result is a cinematic and oddly danceable bricolage of soul, americana, textural post-rock, ambient psychedelia and western romanticism. The members of Kan Wakan are Kristianne Bautista (vocals), Gueorgui I. Linev (multi-instrumentalist, composer), Peter Potyondy (guitarist), Ian Anderson (bassist), Dannon Rampton (violinist), Keith Krey (drummer) and Jesse Aumiller (keyboardist). They are expected to release their debut record in fall.
