Karuan (Karwan Maruf) is a music producer based in Vienna. He was born in 1976 in Austria as the son of Kurdish parents. At the age of 6 he started to record his singing to music tapes. Since then, making music is Karuan's most favorite occupation. In 1995 he started to work on his own projects. At first his music was strictly band oriented, but later he began to arrange his songs on the computer. Karuan is an autodidact mucisian. His music is the result of mixing traditional oriental Kurdish music of his roots, with the western culture.
