Valerie June Hockett is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Memphis of United States. Her influences come from folk, blues, gospel, soul, appalachian and bluegrass, and artists like Elizabeth Cotten, Leadbelly, The Carter Family, Whitney Houston, Elmore James and many more. June was exposed to gospel when she was child at her local church. She plays guitar, banjo and ukulele. She officially began perfoming at the age of 19 as member of the duo Bella Sun.
