Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra African Kings



Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra is a jazz-afrobeat band based in Leeds of United Kingdom. They influenced of space jazz pioneers of 70's, free jazz trailblazers of 60's and artists such as Fela Kuti, James Brown and Tony Allen. The Arkestra was founded in 2007, after a series of jam sessions at the Leeds basement bar Sela. In 2010 the band performed throughout the U.K. at many venues and festivals and recorded their first single 7inch vinyl. The members of the band are Eddie Hick (drums), Paul Baxter (bass), Tarek Modi (keys, synth, vocoder), Neil Innes (guitar), Simon Nixon (trumpet), Pete Williams (tenor sax), Martyn Strange (baritone sax), Leon Johnson (tenor sax, shekere) and Kris Wright (percussion).
