Preservation Hall Jazz Band is known for performing traditional New Orleans style jazz. The band devires its name from the Preservation Hall venue located in New Orleans French Quarter. They perform at the Preservation Hall and tour around the world more than 150 days in a year. The band is active from 1963 and many musicians have played under the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, such as Lucien Barbarin, Wendell Brunious, Manny Crusto, Jim Robinson and many more. The present members of the band are Ben Jaffe (creative director, tuba), Mark Braud (band leader, trumbet), Charlie Gabriel (clarinet, saxophone), Freddie Lonzo (trombone), Joe Lastie jr. (drums, percussion), Rickie Monie (piano), Ronell Johnson (tuba) and Clint Maedgen (saxophone). The band was awarded in 2006 National Medal of Arts and in 2013 NAACP Image Award.
