Ikebe Shakedown is a band based in Brooklyn, NY and officially formed in 2008. The band consists of Barnaby Alter (drums), Dave Bourla (percussion), Mike Buckley (sax), Vince Chiarito (bass), Jason Colby (trumpet), Nadav Nirenberg (trombone), Robin Schmidt (guitar) and extended members Tim Allen (bass), Mayteana Morales (percussion), Morgan Price (sax), Kevin Raczka (percussion) and Dennis Swan (Hammond, synth). They play using elements of afrobeat, funk, cinematic soul, deep-disco and boogaloo. Ikebe influenced by artists like Manu Dibango, Isaac Hayes, Fela Cuti, James Brown, Sly Stone and The Invaders. They have released one album.
