The Detroit Experiment is a collaborative project consisting of producer-DJ Carl Craig and a team of natives or longtime residents of Detroit musicians such as Jospeh Fiddler, Bennie Maupin, Marcus Belgrave, Geri Allen, Regina Carter, Perry Hughes, Ron Otis, Allan Barnes, Karriem Riggins, Jaribu Shahid, Al Turner, Francisco Mora Catlett and Aaron Luis Levinson. The result is a jazz group with elements of funk, techno, electro and groove. Carl Craig is the conductor of the band. They released one album until now, in 2003.
