Uptown Funk Empire is a funk project by producer and musician Bruno ''Patchworks" Hovart. He is from Lyon, France, started involving with music in teen age and in mid 90's he has his first releases with house, disco and electronic bands. After nu jazz-soul band Metropolitan Jazz Affair, The Dynamics (reggae, dub, soul) and Mr President (trip-hop, funk, soul) Hovart made the Empire a tribute to funk. Vintage and fresh with groove, disco, boogaloo and soul influences. The first album of Uptown Funk Empire 'The Empire Strikes Back' was released in 2009.
