Tom Shimura aka Lyrics Born or Asia Born, is a producer and rapper born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in California, USA. He is founding member of Quannum project and also one half of Latyrx group with MC Lateef the Truthspeaker. Shimura started his hip-hop career at the college as a DJ. He has collaborations with artists like KRS-One, Dilated People, DJ Shadow, Diverse, Blackalicious and Joyo Velarde. Lyrics Born's debut solo album 'Later That Day' was released in 2003.
