Danakil is a reggae band from Marly-le-Roi, France. The group created by college students in 2000. The members of Danakil are Balik (vocalist), Natty Jean (vocalist), Das the Coach (sax), Tom-Tom (trumpet), Massif-Boris (bass), Titi le Duc (drums), Fab' (guitar), Smarties (keys), Tino (keys), Dus (guitar), Bobby (sound engineer), Arnaud (sound engineer) and Max (light engineer). The name Danakil comes from the Ethiopian desert. They transmit messages through their songs about humanism, activism, inequalities, problems of Africa, hypocrisy of politicians, climate problems, consumer society and freedom. Danakil's debut album 'Micro Climat' was released in 2006.
