The Motet is a funk-electro band from Colorado, formed in 1998 by Dave Watts. The members of the group are Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Rayn Jalbert (guitar), Gabe Marvine (trumpet), Matt Pitts (tenor sax) and Jags Ingber (vocals). Their sound is a mixture of funk, electro, afro-beat, disco, soul and jam-jazz. The Motet is one of the best improvisational live bands. Their debut album 'Play' was released in 2001.
