Herbert Jeffrey Hancock is a jazz pianist and composer, born in 1940 in Chicago, USA. He began studying piano when he was 7 years old. Hancock has worked with artists such as Miles Davis, Donald Byrd, Wayne Shorter, Joni Mitchell, Chick Corea and many more. He was also member of Miles Davis Quintet (1963-1968) and VSOP Quintet (1976). Herbie's music is a mixture of jazz, bebop, funk, fusion and R&B. He has won many Grammy Awards and one Academy Award. His debut album 'Takin' Off' was released in 1962.
