Antibalas is an Afrobeat band from Brooklyn, USA. The group founded in 1998 by Martin Perna as El Conjunto Antibalas (The Bulletproof Ensemble in Spanish). The band's style influenced by Afrobeat, funk, jazz, dub and rythms of Cuba and West Africa. Many musicians joined the band all these years. For the 2014 touring line up there are 17 members. Antibalas debut album 'Liberation Afrobeat' was released in 2000.
